With proper care, goats have the opportunity to live long lives. The average life expectancy for domesticatedAdapted over time (as by selective breeding) from a wild or natural state to life in close association with and to the benefit of humans goats ranges 10-15 years, with some individuals living past the age of 20! Many factors affect an individual’s expected lifespan, including some that are beyond a caregiver’s control such as their breed, genetics, and health status upon arrival, but their environment, as well as the nutrition and care they receive after rescue factor in as well.
